Magic Sam's Lookin' Good Guitar Lesson by Johnny Burgin

Special guest bassist J.D. Sipe, noted folk artist based in Albuquerque, joined me to play a bit of the classic tune "Lookin' Good" by Magic Sam from his LP West Side Soul on Delmark records. We play it for a while and then I break down the parts of the song. Don't be discouraged, Rome wasn't built in a day. It's helpful to practice pieces of the song individually, slowly. Then gradually try putting them together. Don't even worry about the incredible 2nd break of the tune, just take your time nailing the boogie patterns and the group of three melodic statements in the body of the song until it's natural and dare I say 'easy' lol!
