Alderney is the most northerly of the Channel Islands. Each year, at the begining of August, they have 'Alderney Week', six days of fun events including a parade, competitions, music, a torchlight procession and fireworks. The 'Daft Raft' races are two of them; one for youngsters, and one for 'the rest 9some call them adults, others would say 'Big Kids'.
