PHO Webinar: Promoting Health: A (re)introduction to program planning

Описание к видео PHO Webinar: Promoting Health: A (re)introduction to program planning

Many health promoters in Ontario have spent the COVID-19 pandemic reassigned to the pandemic response, away from health promotion work. In light of this, Public Health Ontario (PHO) is hosting a three-part webinar series that aims to re-familiarize health promoters with key concepts in health promotion. The series will also benefit professionals in both public and community health who wish to learn more about health promotion.

In the second session of the series, Andrea Bodkin, Senior Program Specialist at PHO, will introduce PHO’s six step process for planning health promotion programs, and draw the connections between program planning, health equity and sustainability. Following this, Lisa Gallant, Program Specialist at Niagara Region Public Health will provide an example of a program that was planned using PHO’s six step process.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the six steps to planning health promotion programs.
2. Recognize the importance of planning from a health equity perspective.
3. Identify the relationship between program planning and sustainability.

Presenters: Andrea Bodkin and Lisa Gallant
