Hamirpur (Himachal). Diwali is being celebrated with enthusiasm across the country today. But there is a village in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh where people are afraid to celebrate Diwali. There is no enthusiasm for Diwali in Sammu village, located about 25 km from Hamirpur. For hundreds of years people have been avoiding celebrating the festival here. The people of the village believe that if a family even by mistake bursts crackers and cooks food at home on the night of Diwali, then either a disaster will come to the village or someone will die an untimely death. Remember that Hamirpur district is the home district of CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.
