Thank you for joining us on our 4th podcast! Today we introduce Darin, another coworker of John and myself in Japan into our group as we discuss what games we've been playing and the latest news. This week, Super Mario Maker 2 received an update that included new game mechanics and an integration with Link from the Legend of Zelda series. We chat with Darin and Brandon about the inclusion since they've both been playing the game. PlayStation also celebrated it's 25th Anniversary and we all reminisced on our favorite PlayStation platform & game, then debated on whether or not that game held up to today's standards.

Throughout we also continue our two focal bits: The Best Bit & The War Cry. For the Best Bit this week we asked what our favorite snow themed level or environment was from a video game. For our discussion on The War Cry we discuss the following question: What are the advantages of a silent protagonist? Do you feel more invested in a story when your playable character has their own “voice” in the game’s plot? Is it important for the playable character to have a voice actor, or is the ability to choose written dialogue options sufficient for giving a sense of narrative agency to an otherwise silent protagonist?
