日本の最高学府、東京大学。敷地内のいたるところに銀杏の木が植えられており、大学のシンボル「東大マーク」にも銀杏の葉があしらわれています。そんな東大の「東京大学本郷キャンパス」は一般開放されているため、学生でなくても銀杏並木を見る事が出来ます。
キャンパス内には歴史ある建物が多くあります。そのなかには大講堂や正門、門衛所など、国の登録有形文化財に登録されているものもあります。歴史を感じる重厚な建物と、色鮮やかな銀杏並木のコントラストはとても美しい眺めです。
本郷キャンパスの銀杏並木の見頃は、例年11月下旬から12月上旬ごろ。一般人も利用できる学食もあるので、ランチや午後の小休憩を兼ねて立ち寄ってみるのもおすすめです。
