ABBA couple Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad divorced in 1981 after a short two-year marriage (after 9 years of living together). When the divorce was final, Frida did what she had always done: re-invented herself with a new look.

Fans were shocked when they saw the video for "One of Us" and saw the formerly long-haired Frida looking miserable with a spikey, short, bright red haircut. They were not always kind about the look. That word "ugly" got thrown around again.

While it may be harsh, I happen to think the iconic "divorce" cut has its moments of absolute beauty.
