Integrity is telling the truth to myself. Honesty is telling the truth to others. Maintaining your integrity, you cannot be dishonest with anyone.

Those who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken away from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose ones' own way. Difficult times do not create choices; they only accent the choices that we make. Life is choice, the process is constant. In the time you've spent reading these lines you've made countless choices. That is the way things work.

Your life is quite capable of living itself naturally and easily. It does not need strained attempts at control which causes loss of control. Have you ever noticed your lack of command at the moment you try to command? When demanding something from another person, you lose command of yourself. You and your life are one and the same, so there is no you and a life to command. When you are one with yourself, you are also one with life, which is full control and complete relaxation. We believe "we" are living life, which leads us to the notion that we can control life. Since there is no "we" to live life, it matters not what "we" believe or do. Wake up! Let Go of Control. Let life live you.

Patience is a hard discipline. It is not just waiting until something happens over which we have no control: the arrival of a bus, the end of the rain, the return of a friend, the resolution of a conflict. Patience is not waiting passively until someone else does something. Patience asks us to live the moment to the fullest, to be completely present to the moment, to taste the here and now, to be where we are. We behave as if the real thing will happen tomorrow, later, and somewhere else. Let's be patient and trust that the treasure we look for is hidden in the ground on which we stand. Patience cannot be taught, learned, or otherwise acquired. Patience is ours only when we give up the self that is impatient.
