I started organizing this documentary about 2 years ago around the time I had my leg lengthening surgery. During recovery I needed something I could work on taht would be beneficial to my recovery. Since I couldn’t stand and record I decided to start some interview questions. As I got busier with other projects I kept this on the back burner for awhile. Until I went to college and had to write a paper about something. I decided to write it about the music industry. I interviewed an artist I collaborated with, named Ratthew for the paper as well as finding sources from sites like music business worldwide and the Spotify website itself. Although I knew alot about the industry, there were some things that I did learn. After turning the 14 page paper in about the music industry I decided to start working on the documentary again. At that time I didn’t really call it a “documentary” per say, it was more of a (and I quote) a “YouTube Video Interview Documentary type thing”. Honestly, I still call it that. I started to reach out to some independent artists I have networked with throughout different social medias. After emailing many, I found 16 independent artists who were available. All of them had great answers to the questions I asked. You can stream the documentary below! After you’re finished, I definitely recommend checking out some of the artists music!
