The magnificence and grandeur of regional folk music was brought alive by noted folk singer Kalpana Patowary at an event organised by Koch Rajbongshi Cultural Society of Bilasipara, Medhipara, Bhotgaon, Kokrajhar in Assam as part of the release of her musical audio album Pratamanjali - folk songs of the Koch Rajbongshi cult, a tribute to the folk legend Pratima Pandey Baruah. The versatile vocalist aiming to bring fresh fragrance of folk music back to people, left the audience spellbound presenting full set of songs from the compilations of the album.

Recently she was in Medhipara, Bhotgaon, Kokrajhar Assam to witness the fading ethnic folk tradition and cultural heritage during ঌতম ভোটগাওঁ আঞ্চলিক কাৰ্ত্তিকা পূজা of the Koch Rajbongshi community of Assam practised by the women and performed during the worship of Kartka Thakure (a folk deity). The songs of this dance are generally long ballads describing the wedding of Lord Siva, the birth of Kartika and the rituals symbolic representations of agricultural activities performed by the women in disguise of man. Kalpana Patowary seeking blessings to follow and who has carved a niche as an independent folk musician launched her project 'Pratimanjali' in coordination with Koch Rajbongshi Cultural Society of Bilasipara along with the Koch-Rajbongshi community (https://bit.ly/2tB8ohR ) on 26th December 2019 in Bilasipara Assam on her death Anniversary.
