Number 8 in the beginners' series is the first dry fly, the simple F fly is very effective in both rivers and still waters. Tied in a range of sizes and colours it imitates a range of insects well enough for trout and grayling in most situations. As far as the tying goes we'll be using one skill that we've already practised- dubbing and also learning to tie a CDC wing.

Thread: Veevus 10/0
Body: Dubbing of your choice
Wing: 1-5 CDC feathers depending on size.
