Silent Hunter 4 Dick O'Kane Manual Targeting Technique Tutorial by Rockin Robbins

Описание к видео Silent Hunter 4 Dick O'Kane Manual Targeting Technique Tutorial by Rockin Robbins

This is the famous Dick O'Kane Targeting Technique published in 2008 on Subsim.com by Rockin Robbins in the Sub Skipper's Bag of Tricks Thread. This will show you how to attack a target from 90 degrees from his course without using the position keeper. Range does not matter in the solution so long as the torpedoes have the range to get there. This eliminates the most frequently incorrect parameter in normal targeting techniques.

With the Dick O'Kane technique you can also set up your attack in the TDC 30 minutes or an hour before you actually shoot, leaving you with the sole task of positioning your boat and pressing the fire button!

Note that this is a historically plausible method, not one that was shown to be actually used in World War II. It uses no calculators or outside tools, only in-game tools. Although no records have been found of the exact method being used in the war, a real submarine could have executed the attack without any problem. We are not claiming Dick O'Kane ever used this method. It is merely named in tribute to him.
