In my early 20’s fortunately or unfortunately I got in contact with few people, who were in one term infectious.

It all started when I chanced upon an online community known as XKMPH.
Through it, I met a bunch of people, whom I swear by, even till this date.

Our paths crossed & I got infected by them.
Not that I did not have the infection from before, but when these people came with their roaring exhaust notes, I immediately knew, this infection is not going away anytime soon.

What started with a late night trip to Odisha to getting lost & treading into AndraPradesh to sleeping throughout the day only to cross Yamuna Expressway at night to avoid the unbearable Indian summer.

From the meadows of Meghalaya, to the high passes of Ladakh.
My intention for travelling may have been different from theirs, yet the common infection which we were all suffering from was travelling on the motorcycle.

Tarun, Rahul, Amit, Arish, Sohail, Sudipto da, Arijit da, Atanu Da, Sambit, Sagar Da, Shantanu Da, Bunty da, Ramneek, Santanu Da and many more.

It would have been extremely difficult to predict the first time I logged onto XKMPH that it would turn out to be such an enriching experience.

What started as a way to get information about travelling on the motorcycle, looking back it was so much more than just travelling.

Being part of Kolkata’s earliest riding community to start distributing clothes on the 24th night to organizing events for the underprivileged.
The lessons I learnt along the way, can never be taught until experienced.

I got to see so many characteristics of men, coming from all facets of life, looking at life from very different perspectives, yet while on the road, we understood a common language.
Fuel up & ride into the sunset and beyond.

The 20’s is a time to experiment with different experiences. I had quite an experience around some very infectious people.

I still dream of travelling India as widely as I can & who knows someday, we may even get a chance to travel across the world together, with my buddies who make riding such a memorable experience.
