Joining us today is Dr. Timothy Hovanec who is an expert in nitrifying bacteria. Dr. Hovanec is the CEO of Dr. Tim’s Aquatics, known for it’s live nitrifying bacteria and other green products. He has discovered many novel species of nitrifying bacteria and has written numerous papers on aquatic microbiology, water quality and filtration techniques for closed system life-support systems. Today we will focus on nitrification and nitrifiers in recirculating aquaculture systems.
