Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec

Описание к видео Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) created art that was inseparable from his life. He lived in Paris at the end of the nineteenth century, immersed in a hedonistic world that was rapidly modernising. It was a time of enormous social and economic change, and Toulouse-Lautrec captured the spirit of the era in his art. He also represented some of society's most vulnerable figures, with pathos and dignity. The posters created for venues like the Moulin Rouge are instantly recognisable, and have an enduring appeal. This film looks at the life and work of one of the most influential and notorious artists in the history of western art.

This film was produced to support the exhibition Pin-Ups | Toulouse-Lautrec & the Art of Celebrity at the Royal Scottish Academy 6 Oct 2018 - Sun 20 Jan 2019: https://bit.ly/2imcPnX
