This is where you can donate to my cousin/sister Tina Austin who is In desperate need of a Pancreas Transplant. Donations would be greatly appreciated as not only would you be donating to a great cause, but you would literally be saving a life. Someone I call my sister is losing her life a little more as the days pass and this is very Important, not only to me, but to her and her family as well. Hi I'm fundraising for myself to get help with travel (from Indiana) hotel, food, car rental to/from Duke University hospital in Dunham NC.

I had a pancreas transplant 15+yrs ago and it was awesome, unfortunately it has now quit doing its job, therefore I'm an insulin dependent, very brittle diabetic. My doctors at Vanderbilt have sent a referral to Duke transplant for a second pancreas transplant. Duke is going through my records, and getting insurance accepted for me to get on the transplant list.
I am truly at battle with my body and brain. This isn't a one and done situation. The steps towards getting a second pancreas takes blood work, tissue typing and other tests.
When it's time to go down to get my evaluation I would have to fly, stay in a hotel, food and rental car while there. I also will have my caregiver traveling, so all of this would be x2.

Approximate costs:

Flight : $400 X2 round trip
Hotel room : $80 X2
Car: $80 per day.
Food: unknown

I am a very positive person. I'm a fighter, I made a promise to my 4 grandbabies, that I will never stop fighting.

I hope that you all will help me to reach my goal.
Asking for $20,000, is only enough for 20 trips to/from the hospital. When I'm transplanted, I will have to be seen once a week, then every other week, once a month, every 3 months, then once a year.
