But Hezbollah is so much more than just a militant group, as its social services programme suggests. Even though it was created to serve the Lebanese Shia, it enjoys popularity amongst various other religious groups. In order to understand them better, we need to delve into their roots on the chaotic battlefields of the Lebanese civil war, which moulded Lebanon as we know it today.
