Welcome to *Episode 5* of our *SteamWorld Build* series on the *Giddyup Gorge* map! [00:00:01] This week, the fight for survival goes nuclear as we delve into combat and advanced automation.

We start by achieving the necessary population to unlock the *Sheriff's Office* and *Armory* [00:04:20], allowing us to recruit *Guards* and build our first defenses, including the terrifying *Thumper Turret* [00:05:53].

Underground, the search for resources heats up!
We discover and begin extracting *Oil**, a vital new resource for **Diesel* production [00:11:16].
We finally break through the sealed doors and encounter aggressive *Bugs* and, for the first time, the massive *Ground Worm* [00:23:48]. Our Thumper Turret is immediately put to the test, proving essential to clearing paths, though not without losing a miner to the danger! [00:29:56]
To boost our production efficiency, we unlock and plan to implement **Conveyor Belts**, automating resource transfer from the extractors directly to the city [00:29:15].

The city layout is starting to define itself into specialized districts [00:16:35], but the escalating threats underground mean our defenses and production chains need to be more efficient than ever!
