In this episode, I take you through the full build of the U.S. 2 1/2 TON 6x6 Airfield Fuel Truck by Tamiya in 1:48 scale. This vehicle is part of my ongoing B-17 diorama series and will eventually sit alongside the legendary bomber on the airfield. From painting and weathering to scratch-built improvements and realistic detailing - this video covers every step of the process to bring this classic military truck to life.

🖌️ Step-by-Step Build Process
Follow along as I walk through each phase of the build: from prepping the parts, applying primer, black basing, and layering on the main Olive Drab coat, to detailed weathering with washes, pigments, and chipping effects. Every step is carefully explained to help modelers of all levels improve their techniques.

🛠️ Detailing & Custom Work
The build includes scratch-built improvements like textured seats using epoxy putty and handmade masks for the tires. I also demonstrate advanced decal techniques, including Micro Set/Sol application and wet sanding to achieve that seamless painted-on finish.

🧼 Realistic Weathering Techniques
Learn how I use washes, pigments, and varnishes to add a convincing layer of dirt, mud, and wear. These techniques bring depth and realism to the final model, perfect for any airfield diorama.

🪞 Lighting & Final Touches
From creating glass effects with UV epoxy for mirrors to silvering the lamp housings, every detail is covered to ensure the truck looks as authentic as possible - right down to the flat coat that seals it all in.
