Did you know that fish carcasses make fantastic soil amendments? As the fish decompose, they provide essential nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium to the soil, promoting healthy plant growth and acting as a rich organic amendment for the garden.
Just be sure to bury them deeply in beds or cover the topsoil with something a dog or rodent can't dislodge! You don't want to have my experience of seeing our doggo with a beard of dead fish 🤮
Depending on the conditions, they will take a few weeks to decompose. Heavy feeders such as tomatoes and brassicas love them.
I'll be sowing a green manure on this grow bag bed until I am ready to replant.
