My highest jump ever on horseback! | PLUS I ride Beau bareback for the first time 🥰

WELL.

This was quite a day of firsts. I rode my trainer's 19 year old, 17.1 hh veteran jumping Holsteiner Tori for my lesson today because Beau is recovering from an EPM flare and lessons are more energy demanding, and I jumped the highest fence I've ever jumped, and my first oxer to boot. Tori and her owner are generous and forgiving to say the least, and it was such a wonderful lesson.

Beau, however, was quite jealous and so I took him out for three minutes on our very first bareback ride (with the intention of hopping right off if he felt poorly), and we both really enjoyed the peace, relaxation, and chance to spend some time together. He's getting treated right now and last time the meds worked very well and rather quickly, so hopefully we'll be back to our normal adventures before we know it.
