HOW TO WIN AT POKER
If you’re new to the game but want to get that poker win - it’s absolutely crucial to know and understand the basics of poker strategy. This video tells you everything you need to know to #winpoker, and I’ve tried to keep things light and interesting.

My name is Rick, and I am not a professional poker player. I’m just a guy who fell in love with the game while playing on a vacation. Diving into the strategy of the game, I found that most poker tutorials are overly complicated and extremely boring.
My plan for this channel is to make a series of short, easy to understand, poker videos that teaches the average Joe and Jane how to play poker and how to win at poker.

If you have any follow-up questions or additional tips to win at poker, please let me know in the comments. I personally reply to all comments, pretty much instantly 😊

1) KNOW YOUR STARTING HANDS
If you want to win at poker, you have to be able to instantly assess whether you’ve been dealt a good or a bad hand. You can’t waste chips in hopes that the community cards may save you and make something of your hand. This video has the best tips on how to assess the strength of your starting hand, but for a more in depth explanation and additional examples, check out our video on the subject.

2) UNDERSTAND POSITION IN POKER
The way you’re seated around the poker table is very important to your poker strategy.
More specifically, in what order you get to act your turn. A big part of poker is to read and consider your opponents. Being one of the last to act in a round is a great advantage, since you first get to see how other players choose to act. And every move they make gives you a piece of information. For more on position, see this video:

3) KNOW HOW TO BLUFF IN POKER
Poker isn’t always pocket aces - sometimes you’re simply dealt a bad hand. But you can’t just fold every bad hand and go all in on every good hand. That’s too easy to read.
Bluffing allows you to win some chips, even with bad cards. And it keeps your opponents guessing. The key to bluffing in poker is to keep your opponents in mind.
For my complete course on bluffing, check out this video:

4) KNOW HOW TO BET IN POKER
Not many new players truly understand the value of a good betting strategy. The best poker betting strategy allows you to get the maximum outcome from a strong hand.
If you’re dealt a monster hand, like two aces, you want to build the pot and create a massive pile of chips for you to win. But, if you start betting aggressively, other players might get scared off and fold their cards - leaving you with just the blinds and some change. You need to make the most of a good hand. This video will introduce you to both value betting and the blocking bet, but for a more detailed dive into poker betting strategy, check out this video:

5) DON’T LIMP
Limping is perhaps the most common beginner mistake in poker.
This is when a player tries to just check or call - instead of making a decision to raise or fold. Poker is all about confidence, real or fake. This is why it’s so important to play with conviction. More advanced players will easily spot if you’re trying to limp your way into the next round of a hand - and they will make you pay for it.
If you have great cards, then raise. If you have bad cards, then fold.
It’s usually that simple.
