Albany, Oregon doesn't have the train density of places like Vancouver, Stockton, or Horseshoe Curve. However, what it lacks in number of trains it makes up for in railfan interest. Besides having a yard switcher on duty for much of the day, at the time these shots were taken the switcher was using a former Southern Pacific SD7 to perform its duties.

Multiple trains were canceled on this day, but we still see trains from Union Pacific, Amtrak, Portland & Western, and Albany & Eastern. From sunrise to sunset, Albany does not disappoint!
