Rowland is CEO and co-founder of www.stake.rent. Stake makes renting financially rewarding by offering Cash Back to renters across the United States.
30% of income in the United States is spent on rent but rent is not talked about in terms of wallet share. With over $100 million in leases currently across 25 states and 50+ rental communities, including multi-family and single family homes as well as office spaces, Stake is on its journey to solve this problem by offering a financial solution for renters. Rowland has been very involved in impact investing globally, and believes that we can use financially technology for good. The serial entrepreneur speaks about how renting and housing is lacking technology and where he sees threats and chances. Which stakeholders he has to work with and convince to introduce technology, what benefits they will draw from having individual data of renters and housing communities and how he envisions the future of housing in a world where everyone seems to shift from owning to renting. This is Rowland's third startup, the first a communications and innovations firm called Post+Beam, the second a computer vision driven photo sharing app. He has been head of product design for Accenture North America's financial services practice, and managing director of design and innovation at Teneo.
