Day 2

I shouldn't have walked right outside. It's my own fault for not noticing the veranda wasn't there. The good news is that I did find Goompa. He said the veranda broke and he fell.
I told Goompa that I needed his hammer to open the path east. Goompa helped me find it nearby. While we did find it, we ran into a local bully named Junior Troopa. He tried to attack me, but the kid clearly hadn't been in a real fight before. I didn't hit him too hard, but I got him enough to show that I meant business.
Junior Troopa ran away swearing revenge. I don't think anything will come of it. Anyway, Goompa and I found the path back to the house. Everyone was relieved to see that we were ok.
I was able to open up the path to the east with the hammer. I wanted to set out right then, but Goomama insisted I stay another day since I needed a little time to recover. I guess that's fair.
I spoke some more with Goombario and Goompa today. Goompa wants me to keep the hammer. He'll be able to get a new one. He also wanted to come with me, but he's too old for such adventures. So, he told Goombario that he should come with me.
While I do know the Mushroom Kingdom well, there are other regions that I don't know about. Goombario is more than happy to tag along. We'll be leaving for Toad Town tomorrow. I'm glad I don't have to go through this whole adventure alone. Maybe Goombario can help me find something that can counteract the Star Rod's power.
