~Lyrics~
That girl, someone who, was raised in the shadow of a witch
A silver sparrow, Neomaria of the inverted gravestone
From birth, the witch, taught her to kill without emotion or thought
That became, her doctrine, the only kind of life she’d ever known
You see she was, an experiment, the first assassin in a long line
The one to preceed “N”, the first cog in the murderess’ mind
Her true family, and their love, where burned away by the witches blue flames
Leaving one, lone girl, who’d bare the seed of malice, but no name
First was a caravan
Traveling the eastern desert
Who vanished
Overnight in swirling sand and blown dirt
They were the first to fall, to this young assassin
And her dagger of the inverted gravestone
A girl who was never meant to thrive
Her lost name all that remains on a gravesite
That girl, now grown, nothing more than a murdering doll
Today’s mark, a young man, garbed in red and already on the run
He betrayed, his homeland, and had killed his little brother as well
And the witch, said to her, take his life and don’t return till it’s done
So at the top, of a cliff, she prepares her deadly ambush
And soon, the distance showed, a crimson figure drawing near
But the boy was hardly a year or two older than she
And for the first time, she could recall, a seed of doubt in her began to appear
Her feet became unsteady
She lost her balance and fell
Her consciousness began to fade as her vision shifted
The boy in crimson saw her land and slowly he drew closer
His bloody sword unsheathed and lifted
A girl who was never meant to thrive
Her lost name all that remains on a gravesite
When she awoke, she found she’d lost, all memory of her life before
All alone in this desert wasteland, with only a few bandaged wounds as clues
Eventually, she was found, by a traveling caravan
And at that time, it was clear the thing to do was give up the pieces of her old life and start anew
She finally cast away
Her sins and her malice
And walked along at last free of her past transgressions
A brand new life based on only small bits and b fragments
She chose a new name of Mariam
A girl who was never meant to thrive
Her lost name all that remains on a gravesite
Now there’s no one who can explain
Why an empty gravesite bears an unborn name
