This was one of my bucket list places and it did not disappoint! It is a magical and surreal experience, even if the time of year you go is not during warm weather. I went during chilly weather (end of November 2013) and still had a wonderful experience.

PURCHASE OPTIONS: Legacy Cruise (www.halonglegacycruise.com) was the tour company and Maria at Halong Bay Legends ([email protected]) is who I used to purchase the cruise. Halong Bay Legends sells several different cruise line packages, but I determine that the "deluxe tour" on the Legacy would be the best choice for me...and it was!

TIPS: Legacy has a deal where if you buy it from their site directly, you will get one hotel night free; however, I found Maria at Halong Bay Legends to be super helpful, genuine, and caring, so I highly recommend buying your cruise from her. She will work within your budget and find you a good experience....hopefully on the Legacy! (Note, as of a month or so ago, Maria's company is also offering a FREE charity tour, so check that out, too.) Just be aware: With these Halong Bay tours, you get what you pay for, so make sure you trust the person you are talking to! That is why Maria comes so highly recommended. She genuinely cares for her customers and loves her job. If you use her, tell her Emily said hello.
