What I Feed My Horses | Grain, Supplements, Routine 2018

Hey guys, this is what I feed Mia and Ami. If you don't know my horses and I , I'll put a little info about them below! Feel free to ask any questions.

Mia: 6 year old ottb mare. In medium work (it's almost winter when I filmed this but it is already cold and rainy). Schooling beginner novice eventing. Easy Keeper.

Ami: Semi-retired 20 year old ottb gelding. Was in full event training until earlier this year. Currently rehabbing from a fetlock/ pastern ligament injury. Cribs (wind sucks), has a very sensitive stomach (prone to ulcers and gastric upset), extremely picky eater, and a hard keeper.

Additional info: Mia gets a set diet of grain and supplements. On occasion, I'll add in a little rice bran or cob to her feed as a treat after a hard ride. Ami has the same supplements he's fed everyday but the grain he gets is different each day. He gets very tired of feeds quickly. I usually keep several different types of senior feed on hand to rotate for this reason. I'm aware it is not good to constantly switch up a horse's feed for fear of gastric upset but in his case and with my vet's approval (approval of whole routine for both horses), we rotate so he is at least getting his supplements, calories, and everything else he needs to thrive. Please no feed suggestion, my vet and I have tried every type of feed and method under the sun and what we currently use is all that works for him (hates oils, weight gain supps, pellets, beet pulp, oatmo, and so on...).

Grain shown in this video in order of appearance:
Hygain Showtorque - Mia and Ami
Pelleted Rice bran- Ami and occasionally Mia as a treat
Sweet COB- occasionally Ami if he's in a picky mood to sweeten his food
Purina Equine Senior- Ami
Nutrena ProForce Fuel- bought it to try with Ami but he didn't like it so Mia gets it until it is gone

Cavalor strucomix senior - Ami
Cavalor Pianissimo - Mia
Integrity Senior low Starch - Ami
12% Pellets - Ami and Mia
Wheat Bran- Both horses on occasion as a mash
Purina Omelene- Ami

leg Up Senior Joint Pellets - Ami, this is the best joint supplements I can get hime to eat. I've bought way more expensive/ better ones but he wouldn't touch them. So the low level supplement is better than nothing! Show ILLEGAL ingredients
Salt- Mia
Adeptus Nimble Mega Nutrient- Mia ( bought for Ami but he would not eat it so Mia gets it instead lol)
MSM- Mia (Ami won't eat it)
SmartCalm Ultra Pellets- Mia
Leg up Stomach Pellets - Mia ( she no longer gets this as I opted for feeding straight aloe vera juice instead but I'm feeding the rest of it until it runs out in her smartpaks)
Leg up Joint Pellets- Ami ( this is what Ami was getting until they came out with the new senior formula. I am feeding the senior formula instead of the regular joint formula now)
Leg Up Probiotics - Ami (Better than probios imo and Ami loves it)
