First governor general of Bengal - Warreen Hastings period - 1772 to 1785.
Regulating act of 1773
He succeeded Clive in 1772 as first Governor of Bengal for 2 years
In 1773, he passed the regulating Act of 1773 which ended the dual system of Administration
He became first governor General of Bengal in 1774.
He appointed colllectors to manager revenue and justice related to revenue affairs
He transferred treasury from Mushirabad to Calcutta
Supereme Court was established in 1774.
