In this video, you will learn all about Pleasant and Unpleasant Sounds.
Sounds that make us feel happy and relaxed are called pleasant sounds. Chirping of birds, pattering of raindrops, rustling of leaves in soft breeze, and music from different musical instruments (such as the tabla, guitar and piano) are some examples of pleasant sounds. Soft and pleasant sounds make us feel good and cheerful. Therefore, we must speak softly, and also play the radio and television at a low volume.
Some sounds are unpleasant. The sound of a drill machine is loud and annoying. Sounds made by firecrackers, thunder, aeroplanes and vehicles are also loud and unpleasant. Unpleasant sounds that make us feel uncomfortable, stressed and unwell are called noise. If very loud, they can even damage our eardrums. Even music, if played very loud, can damage our ears.
