I'm Kurt Inker Brugel, I ink comics and I want to help you complete your comic.
I have put together this promo video to show off my inking skills and help me find others that share the same enthusiasm as I do for Black and White comics.
I chose Jack Kirby's The Diary of Dr. Hayward from JUMBO COMICS issue #1 because of it's place in comic book history.
I used Jack Kirby's layout as if they were pencils for me to ink over.
Its an odd comic book story that reflects the times BUT it spoke to me and challenged me to ink it.
Its one of Kirby's first comics while at Iger studios.
One of the challenges is Kirby's use of the 12 panel page grid.
These are my originals side by side with Kirby's pages.
I work on 13x19 heavy-bound paper.
I use a variety of inking tools to get the effects that I desire.
I enjoy embellishing the page with ink marks.
I have put all of this together in a PDF to give you a closer look of what I am capable of.
