3hp Advantage : the little CNC that could

If you're a fan of combining precision CNC machining with traditional printmaking, this project is for you! I created a 5-colour letterpress print using Corian print blocks. I used the Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030 CNC router with a 2.2kW water cooled spindle provided by SainSmart to carve the blocks. Toolpaths were designed in Vectric Aspire, making this intricate project possible. Honestly, I can not cope without Vectric!

The prints were made on a Vandercook SP20 proofing press at SNAP, the Society of Northern Alberta Print Artists, in Edmonton, AB. Blending modern CNC technology with traditional letterpress techniques.
