Too Good To Go app review (Seattle) - Theo Chocolate, Halal Guys, Local Bigger Burger, Donut Factory

Hey everyone! In this video, me and Kat share with you our experience in using the Too Good To Go app for the very first time. We had a lot of fun using this app, since we got to checkout 4 different Seattle businesses that we’ve never been to before. We picked-up some chocolate ($5.99) from Theo Chocolate in Fremont, got tasty American Halal food from The Halal Guys in South Lake Union ($3.99), we also picked up a homestyle grilled Hamburger meal ($4.99) from Local Bigger Burger in Greenlake, and lastly got some donuts ($3.99) from the Donut Factory in the University District.

The Too Good To Go app started in Europe several years ago, but launched in Seattle last year. It’s also in a number of other large U.S. Cities, like Boston, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, L.A., and Philadelphia.

“Too Good To Go” is kind of a strange name for an app, but it’s actually short for “Too Good To Go [To Waste]”, and that’s it’s primary mission – is to eliminate food waste.

Now the way that the app works, is that it lists a number of participating bakeries, restaurants, and grocery stores in the Seattle area that have a surplus of food at the end of their business day, which you can purchase at a discount through the app. Of course, businesses usually don’t know what’s gonna be left over at the end of the day, so you don’t get to choose what you get, which is why they call it a “Surprise Bag.”

And it’s really easy to purchase a Surprise Bag through the app. After opening up the app on your smart phone, just browse through the participating locations in your area and once you find a Surprise Bag that you want, hit the “Reserve” button and pay for it in the app. Just be sure to pick-up the Surprise Bag during the designated pick-up window.
