Percy Grainger, 'Lincolnshire Posy' for two pianos played by Peter Noke and Julian Hellaby

Описание к видео Percy Grainger, 'Lincolnshire Posy' for two pianos played by Peter Noke and Julian Hellaby

The three movements played here are 'The Brisk Young Sailor', 'Lord Melbourne' and 'The Lost Lady Found'. These movements are the last three from a six-part suite based on Lincolnshire folk songs that Grainger had recorded in the early years of the twentieth century. The suite was originally written for wind band (in 1937) but was arranged for two pianos less than a year later. The tracks are taken (with permission!) from Peter Noke and Julian Hellaby's CD, 'British Doubles'.
