Fable is coming back and on the surface it looks good. New studio. New technology. A fresh start. But this video is not about visuals or hype. It is about history.

Fable was built on ambition and broken promises. It was a series that mattered to a lot of people even when it failed to deliver what it said it would. That failure was not incidental. It shaped how players learned to trust developers and marketing in the early 2000s.

Now years later Microsoft is reviving the series instead of creating something new. In doing so they are asking us to remember only the charm and nostalgia while quietly ignoring the parts that made Fable complicated.

This video explains why that bothers me. Why the remake was not necessary. And why covering up history does not resolve it.
