Thanks to Atlus for giving me the game, I can enjoy the vision that was truly meant for SMTV. This game has become one of the most special and influential in the series when it comes to the the union of amazing quality of life and character writing the series has never seen before. I hope I made my point clear in the video itself but SMT and Persona has finally blown me away for the first time in a long time. Proving they haven't lost their touch as fantastic character and narrative designers with Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance. Vengeance is a remaster of the original Shin Megami Tensei V released in 2021 as a switch exclusive. The original was a game that initially made an impression on most people, myself included, but quickly fell by the wayside in favor of more interesting games in the series. It had a lot going for it, with a great initial hook, enhanced combat system, and fantastic new 3D models for all the demons. The world had a ton more freedom of movement with jumping, wall climbing, and easy teleportation. It seemed like a great game at first, but the longer you played the more issues arose. I liked it enough to get every ending and fill out all of the compendium. I never managed to beat the demi fiend because I’m not that great at video games, but overall I think I played the game enough to solidify my opinion of it.
