Описание к видео What Feynman Discovered About Light That NO ONE Understands

Here’s something quietly astonishing.

Shine light at a piece of ordinary glass, and about 4 out of every 100 photons reflect back.
The other 96 pass straight through.

That sounds simple—until you ask a very basic question.

How does each photon “decide” what to do?

They’re identical.
They hit the glass at the same angle.
They encounter the same surface.

Yet some reflect, and some don’t.

Now it gets stranger.

Add a second surface—thin glass—and reflection can suddenly drop to zero, or jump to 16%, depending only on the thickness of the glass.
Same light.
Same material.
Wildly different outcomes.

So what’s happening?

According to Quantum Electrodynamics, light doesn’t choose a single path.
Each photon explores every possible path simultaneously.
Straight paths.
Curved paths.
Paths that bounce.
Paths that pass through.

All at once.

The paths that reinforce each other survive.
The paths that cancel each other disappear.
What we observe is the result of this invisible interference.

This isn’t science fiction.
This is QED—the most precisely tested theory in human history.
Its predictions match experiments to 12 decimal places.
That’s like measuring the distance from Los Angeles to New York with the accuracy of a human hair.

And here’s the deepest mystery of all.

We can calculate exactly what light will do.
We can predict the outcome perfectly.
But no one can explain why nature works this way.

We have the equations.
We don’t have the intuition.
