After being accepted into a University through clearing, finding accommodation can seem like a daunting task. Linguistics student Emily and Tom talk about their experience of finding clearing accommodation.

Both Tom and Emily, did get the results they were hoping for on A Level Results day but clearing gave them a new opportunity to find a place where they could succeed at the University of Southampton.

So after going to clearing I was looking at accommodation and so for me is easy going on the website, it's a step-by-step process they bullet point everything make it really easy to choose your first, second and third options.

Emily:
Yeah, all the information is there.

Tom:
And yeah putting your first choice, second choice, third choice. Obviously coming through clearing you don't expect to get your first choice but luckily the halls I ended up at were still fantastic. Great, bunch of mates.

Emily:
All the halls are really nice though, all of them are really good.

Tom:
Yeah and they've all been modernised really recently so I'm actually quite jealous that I'm a masters student now and I'm not living in halls, which sounds crazy to say but they are fantastic.

Emily:
Well when I rang up they did say for this year we can guarantee accommodation so that was really good, it was a big weight off my mind. I ended up in a great halls met so many nice people. I don't feel like I've compromised anything by coming through clearing for that.
