Evolution of Albion cars - Models by year of manufacture

Описание к видео Evolution of Albion cars - Models by year of manufacture

The Albion Motor Car Co. in Glasgow began producing automobiles in 1900. There were the 8 HP, 12 HP and 16 HP models with two-cylinder petrol engines between 1900 and 1913 and the four-cylinder 24/30 HP and 15 HP models between 1906 and 1915.
This was followed in 1902 by the production of a half-tonne transporter. In 1933, the company developed its own diesel engine. In 1935, the Scottish competitor Halley Motors was taken over.
Albion was taken over by Leyland in 1951. Most of the heavy Albion models were discontinued in favour of the corresponding Leyland models. By the end of the 1950s, Albion and Leyland vehicles resembled each other. In 1972, the use of the Albion name for the vehicles was discontinued and they were only available as Leyland.
