Dafi Primary School in Varanasi Flooded After Heavy Rains, Students’ Education Disrupted

Dafi Primary School, located in the Kashi Vidyapith block, was completely flooded after recent heavy rainfall, severely affecting students’ education. Water has accumulated up to knee level across classrooms and the school playground, making it nearly impossible for teachers and students to continue normal academic activities.

Local residents, including Aman Yadav, Ajay Fauji, Bhola Yadav, and Abhishek, say that such flooding happens every year during the monsoon. They blame the municipal authorities for the lack of proper drainage facilities, which has allowed water to accumulate in the school premises.

The school has been closed for the past two to three days, preventing children from attending classes. Prolonged water stagnation also raises health concerns, as it can become a breeding ground for diseases. Residents have criticized the school administration and municipal officials for their negligence.

Parents are demanding immediate action to improve drainage and clean the school premises so that children can continue their education without interruption. Many worry that repeated flooding and poor infrastructure will negatively impact the students’ learning and future prospects.

“If education continues like this, how will India grow?” residents lament, highlighting the urgent need for authorities to address the issue.
