The Long-Whiskered Owlet (Xenoglaux loweryi) was seen in the wild only three times before and was never filmed up untill now. On January the 24th, the owlet was found by Shachar Alterman, an Israeli birdwatcher, Noga Shanee of the NGO Neotropical Primate Consevation, and Edin Fonseca, a local guide, in the forests of La Esperanza, Yambrasbamba. The discovery was made as a results of biological investigation and community conservation efforts taken by the NGO.
