I got both the *Brand New* Joe Dart II and the Joe Dart III basses from Sterling By Music Man.

I was really impressed with how distinct each of these basses actually sounded, and I wanted to do something to show that off. I start off with the JD II, then switch to the JD III, then end with both at the same time - which sounds really cool, IMO.

I wanted to do something with slap/pop on the JD II - because that really is where that bass shines - so I took some creative liberties and added a little slap thing to the jam section, on top of the existing bassline. Personally, I think it's quite cromulent.

Obviously this isn't a single take video, but all bass tracks were recorded straight into the DI. This is how both of these basses sound fresh out of the box with zero audio processing.

Finally, big props to Vulf for having free stems on Bandcamp. The backing track is made of the original Dean Town stems, with Joe muted.
