In this video tutorial Chef Davy Devaux shows how to carve beautiful butterflies out of a large piece of carrot, It is a very easy and fast way to make your food stand out from the rest, although these carrot butterflies are usually used to decorate sushi plates or individual sushi pieces you can place a carrot butterfly on other food dishes like in the middle out a pea soup for colour contrast.
Chef Devaux also shows how to make cucumber fans, which can also be used as a decorative garnish for sushi and sashimi platters.
