About This Story : Punjab is reeling under its worst floods in decades, with over 1,000 villages and more than 61,000 hectares of farmland submerged across districts including Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Amritsar, and Fazilka. The Sutlej continues to overflow, displacing thousands, damaging crops, and killing livestock. So far, over 11,000 people have been rescued and nearly 5,000 are living in 77 relief camps. Authorities remain on high alert with the Army, NDRF, and BSF continuing operations. Angry Farmers say that the relief and rescue efforts have been left to locals and the army for what they are calling a man made tragedy and the failure of the bureaucracy that did not heed warnings.
