Cookie & Halo Litter - 7 Weeks

This is a training video produced by Team Reeves Ranch. Each litter will have a total of two training videos before go home day. One at approximately 3 weeks of age and one at approximately 7 weeks of age. In this video, the 7 week old puppies are learning basic obedience, leash work, playing in water, individual training sessions, learning to settle and listen for commands. They are taught to be calm when put on their backs, clipping their nails, brushing teeth and grooming. By week 7 they have a very good understanding of our puppy obstacle course and breeze right through it. They encounter strange and sometimes loud noises to desensitize them. This includes blow dryers, vacuum cleaners and loud banging. They are introduced to several of the animals on the ranch and also get to take rides on our ATV's and wagons for transport. Treat training is well underway and they are latched onto our frozen chicken treats. We continue with our Zen work in every exercise by feeling the puppy's heartrate, level of trust, level of excitement for the exercise and also its level of fear. With this consistent input, we are able to adjust every move we make with the puppies to ensure maximum support, encouragement and progress. Back in the nursery they are now spending 5 hours at a time in their crates at night, eating solid food, have been weaned from mom, and are potty trained to use our target area. Of course they receive endless love and cuddles before, during and after each exercise.
