The M20 Summit, a two-day International Conference on the sidelines of the G20 Programme begins Monday at the Venue in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg.

The recent deaths of five journalists killed in Gaza, Palestine during a hospital strike has once again brought to fore the dangers and violent conditions that global journalists seeking the truth work under. Here in the African continent, freedom of expression has been restricted in some countries, resulting to detentions, harassment and even death of some journalists.

These are some of the matters that will be tackled in the next two days here at The Venue in Melrose Arch as the M20 Summit is being held. To talk more on this and the rise of the global risks to the media's integrity, we are joined by Phathiswa Magopeni from the Network of Independent Media Councils in Africa (NIMCA) and Executive Director of the Press Council of South Africa. We are also joined by Anriette Esterhuysen from the Association for Progressive Communications.
