June 1, 1988 - Coming into the 1988 Eastern Conference Finals, the Detroit Pistons had lost 21 consecutive games at the Boston Garden. After Isiah Thomas' 35-point, 12-assist performance in Game 1 snapped the streak, he returned for more in Game 5. Following a foul-plagued 6-point first half, Thomas erupted for 29 points in the second half and overtime, securing a 102-96 win and pushing the Pistons to the brink of their first NBA Finals appearance since arriving in Detroit in 1957.
