During a trip to Southern Illinois for the eclipse, I decided to spend some time railfanning the Union Pacific Chester Subdivision. Upon witnessing a dead evening prior, I decided to try my luck again. On this Tuesday morning into late afternoon, 12 trains were documented in about a five hour time period. The action did not disappoint at all. Mid day, I went down to Anna, IL to catch a CN train, so who knows how many trains continued to pound through town as the impressive Northbound fleet put on its show. A few as needed trains today to add on to the light of the traffic. Some cool foreign power and neat horns. This was definitely one of the best railfanning experiences I have ever had.
