Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

In December 1836, the Parish Priest Fr. Charles Desgenettes at Our Lady of Victories in Paris, received inner messages, asking that he consecrate his troubled parish to the Holy and Immaculate Heart of Mary. He did so and this led to the founding of a Confraternity of Our Lady of Victories, which promoted the idea of intercession through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Consequently, this roused further enthusiasm for consecration to Mary’s Immaculate Heart. Why is this important?
