The Flora Rug Collection marks a confident collision between contemporary art and textile design, born from Nanimarquina’s collaboration with Barcelona-based artist Santi Moix. Rather than adapting decorative motifs, the collection translates Moix’s raw, expressive floral paintings directly into hand-tufted rugs. The result is unapologetically artistic: pieces that reject prettiness in favor of intensity, capturing flowers not as ornaments but as living, changing organisms charged with emotion.

Moix’s work has long explored the tension between growth and decay, and Flora brings that obsession to the floor. Each rug reflects a different stage in a flower’s life cycle, from exuberant bloom to inevitable deterioration. Designs such as Backyard feel almost mural-like, with sprawling compositions and sketch-like linework that preserve the immediacy of the artist’s hand. These are not passive background elements—they demand attention and space to breathe.

Other pieces, including Promenade, show a more controlled approach, isolating floral elements against calm grounds to heighten their impact. Available in multiple shapes, including circular formats, these rugs demonstrate an extraordinary command of color and balance, often combining dozens of hues without slipping into visual chaos. The Bloom series strips the concept down even further, focusing on single floral forms rendered as irregular, sculptural objects.
